Fans were taken aback by rapper Hurricane G’s demise when Erick Sermon revealed it on Instagram.
After suffering many defeats in a week, Hip-Hop has now lost another MC. Erick Sermon reports that Hurricane G, a former member of the Hit Squad and Def Squad, died away on November 6.
The Brooklyn, New York MC, whose real name is Gloria Rodriguez, appeared on albums with artists including Redman, Keith Murray, and Smif-n-Wessun.
Hurricane G put out two albums: Mami & Papi, which featured Thirstin Howl III, and All Woman, which came out in 1997. Despite being a member of the Hit Squad and working with colleagues such as Smif-N-Wessun and Tony Touch, her aggressiveness made her popular among the underground.

Rapper Hurricane G, better known by her stage name Hurricane Gloria. The later rapper’s daughter Gloria Rodriguez is shared by her husband, Erick Sermon of E.P.M.D., who made the announcement of her death on social media on Sunday night (November 6).
The reason for the demise is yet unknown.
Sermon also recognized Rodriguez as an MC who carried the torch as a woman and a role model for Puerto Rican-American hip-hop in a somber Instagram post. The familial tie was also emphasized during the sermon. Hurricane G has been a professional rap artist for 25 years, doing so in both Spanish and English.
