Chef Alex Belew Talks About Hell’s Kitchen Pressure And Reaching

Chef Alex

In the first few episodes of Hell’s Kitchen season 21, Chef Alex Belew won over many fans with his unique cuisine, proactive demeanor, and culinary prowess.

He has had both highs and lows during his time in the program, but he wouldn’t have it any other way. Belew has set himself up for multiple wins on the show after receiving a perfect rating from renowned chef Gordon Ramsay and rising to the top of the competition.

In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda, Alex Belew discussed the particular challenges, triumphs, and setbacks as well as his friendship with the other cast members of Hell’s Kitchen: Battle of the Ages.

Chef Alex Belew talks about his time on season 21 of Hell’s Kitchen

In comparison to past seasons, this one of Hell’s Kitchen was hotter and more dramatic. Many contestants were kicked out of the kitchen by Gordon Ramsay when they were unable to create passable meals during service assignments. Teams frequently experience overwhelm as a result of the increasing stakes in each episode.

Chef Alex Belew talks about meeting Ramsay and the demanding clientele while working under duress in Hell’s Kitchen. The chef said that he frequently experienced problems in the kitchen but noted that he relied on his culinary abilities to get through these trying times.

You must rely on instinct and dietary understanding when this happens. What flavors complement one another, how should particular foods be prepared, and wish for the best? Before I realized what I was doing, I had completed 30 minutes of a 40-minute challenge.

“All I did during that thirty minutes was a cook and put things together that I knew would work. It’s important to be knowledgeable and creative. True innovation, by definition, keeps your sources a secret!

Gordon Ramsay gave Alex Belew a perfect score for his fish dish on the first show while other contestants received low marks (including boxed spaghetti). The team just missed winning, though, before launching into a riot of retaliation.

One of the uncommon individuals to receive a perfect score was the chef. In the same context, Belew underlined the importance of optimism, saying:

One of my career’s most unforgettable moments was that. Unfortunately, it was overwhelmed by packaged pasta and only lasted for about 3 minutes. What a strange dish to make for the chef. I tried my best to keep a positive attitude while being annoyed. It’s way too early to lose your mind and blow up on day one.

The format of Hell’s Kitchen season 21 irks Alex Belew

A penalty pass was also given to the cook, who described it as “comfort, blessing, and maybe a weapon!” The contestants on Hell’s Kitchen season 21 were divided into two teams based on their ages. The Red team had chefs in their twenties, whereas the Blue team had cooked in their forties. Belew hasn’t liked the format this season, on the other side.

To be completely honest, I was among the last to clap when he unveiled the topic for this year. I wasn’t at all excited by it. Also,  was aware that the 20s had just started and that the majority of people my age held managerial roles. I had the same thought!

Chef Belew, on the other hand, was adamant that he got along great with his staff. He revealed that he made some of his closest friends on the show and that they are still in touch, proving that the performers cared about one another despite the drama. Belew called the cooks in their twenties “a very exceptional collection of grownups” and that he held them in the highest regard. He declared:

“I’m eager to watch where their careers go. I can genuinely claim that I get along well with every one of them and that I would hire any of them to work for me right away.

Alex Belew responded when asked if he had a favorite team member:

I can’t claim I have a single favorite when it comes to anything. They are far too numerous and extremely important to me. I know it appears like I’m avoiding the topic, but those kids are really important to me.

Chef Alex Belew developed a keen interest in cuisine at a young age, starting with cooking with his grandmother and eventually becoming highly skilled in the kitchen.

He has applied all of his knowledge, skills, and tenacity to the culinary challenge to put himself to the ultimate test. Will he be successful? Only time will tell.
