Crime Scene: The Texas Killing Fields, Netflix’s new true crime documentary, is set to premiere on the streaming service on November 29, 2022, at 3 a.m. ET.

The docuseries focuses on the infamous Texas Killing Fields murders, many of which remain unsolved. Joe Berlinger, best known for his work on Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile, executive produces the docuseries, which stars Zac Efron as Ted Bundy.

Crime Scene: The Texas Killing Fields is divided into three 50-minute segments on Netflix

On November 9, 2022, Netflix released the official trailer for the documentary, which begins with foreboding images of the Texas Killing Fields. It revolves around the tragic disappearances and murders of three girls. One of the documentary’s main subjects is Tim Miller, the father of one of the daughters. Miller asserts,

“I will never forget the day my daughter went missing.”

Following that, the trailer for Crime Scene: The Texas Killing Fields depicts the discovery of additional women’s remains in the fields. It also shows the victims’ families, who are desperate for answers. The teaser has a gloomy and melancholy tone that will be familiar to viewers of Netflix’s true crime series. Along with the teaser, Netflix released a series synopsis, which reads:

“An overgrown field and a stretch of road connect a series of brutal killings that have occurred over many decades, as bereaved families seek answers.”

Jessica Dimmock, known for her work on Without, The Convention, and Pearl, to name a few projects, is rumored to be directing the docuseries. Crime Scene: The Texas Killing Fields is expected to have three episodes, all of which will be available on Netflix on the same day. Each episode will last approximately 50 minutes.

Over 30 bodies were discovered in the Texas Killing Fields

The Texas Killing Fields is a large tract of land located near League City, Texas. When the bodies of several young women were discovered in the 1970s and 1980s, the area made headlines. Several females are said to have gone missing in the area, and several murders are still unsolved.

So far, 30 murder victims’ corpses have been discovered in the area. Laura Miller, whose father, Tim Miller, is prominently featured in the documentary, is one of the victims. Laura had been missing for almost a year before her body was discovered nearby. Audrey Cook and Heide Villarreal-Fye are just two of the many victims.

Numerous documentaries and true crime shows have thoroughly investigated the murders. A film based on the killings, Texas Killing Fields, was released in 2011. Ami Canaan Mann directed the film, which stars Sam Worthington, Jessica Chastain, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. On November 29, 2022, Netflix will release Crime Scene: The Texas Killing Fields.
