The agency’s regret was expressed in the statement, which also explained the idol’s departure. Due to his ill health and growing anxiety, Dylan withdrew from all group activities in the past.
According to a press release issued in November 2021, Dylan spent a lot of time in the hospital and frequently for extended periods due to recurrent anxiety disorders.
D-CRUNCH will continue to be a six-piece group
In a press release on October 21, 2022, AI Grand Korea compassionately explained Dylan’s D-Departure Crunch’s condition while also updating supporters on the group’s future endeavors. An apology to the supporters opened the letter. It read:
The artist’s health was of the utmost concern, the agency continued. However, no answer was found that would let the idol continue to be a part of the group.
We helped D CRUNCH member Dylan to relax in a stable environment and focused on his recovery as indicated by medical professionals, but we just received the medical opinion that rejoining the group would be too much.
Dylan will be leaving D CRUNCH as of right now to respect his personal and parental viewpoints, we’ve decided after lengthy conversations with member Dylan and his parents. We deeply apologize that this unexpected news has alarmed so many of our fans.
The agency then provided some relief after the awful news. As stated in the statement:
We are currently doing everything we can to ensure that D CRUNCH can meet fans with new songs and performances shortly. D CRUNCH hopes to continue promoting as six members in the future.
The statement also pledged to give the boy band a new, improved image:
“We want to keep doing everything we can to help D-CRUNCH members in the future.” We kindly request that you anticipate and keep an eye out for D-CRUNCH, who will return with a brand-new picture.
Details about D-CRUNCH
Rappers Hyunho, O.V, Minhyuk, Chanyoung, Jungseung, and Dylan, as well as singers Hyunwook, Hyunoh, and Hyunwoo, formed the nonet D-CRUNCH in 2018. The group had a huge hit in its first two years thanks to several fantastic mini-albums and singles.
However, as idol Hyunwoo took a sabbatical and eventually departed the group in 2020, things started to become worse. His replacement, Minhyuk, left the group in 2021 because of a discrepancy between the idol’s and the group’s objectives and professional aspirations. The band’s most recent album, Addiction, was released in March of this year.
