“D1CE” Is Said To Have Dissolved After Being Active For Almost Four Years

D1CE

After being active for the majority of their careers, the five-member K-pop boy group D1CE officially split on January 20, 2023.

D1CE Entertainment’s trio made their debut on August 19, 2019, with their EP, Wake Up: Roll the World. However, when their contract with the agency expired, all five members left the firm at the same time, and the group disintegrated. D1CE’s official Twitter account announced the disbandment of the band, tweeting:

“D1CE Exclusive Contract Expiration Information: For more information, please see the fan café message.”

The news surprised their fans, who had not anticipated it. Given that all members, with the exception of the youngest, Jin-young, are still serving in the military, the disbandment surprised many fans.

D1CE is well-known for having a large discography. Despite their impressive development, DON1Ys (D1CE fans) were concerned about the true reason for their disbandment. On the social media platform, one user wrote:

“NO, PLEASE, NO, NOT S1CE”

Fans are concerned about the sudden disbandment of the K-pop boy band D1CE

While the K-pop boy band has been active for over four years, most fans remember them from reality survival TV shows Produce 101, Boys24, and MIXNINE.

When the unexpected news of their disbandment reached their fans, they expressed their concern about the situation. Concurrently, fans expressed concern about their inability to properly farewell the members because the majority of them are now in the military.

Other fans, however, have blamed their agency, D1CE Entertainment. Despite the boy band’s hard work and effort in carving out a niche for themselves in the K-pop market, DON1Ys believe their business hasn’t done them justice.

Fans believe that the K-pop trio deserves far more from their agency, from promotions to external scheduling, given that their agency handles the majority of their representation. Fans naturally expect the members to resurface under a different banner at that point because the majority of the fanbase liked and respected their music.

DRAW YOU: REMEMBER ME, the five-member K-pop boy group’s most recent official return in 2020, was well received by fans. However, aside from a few songs like Good Day and OSTs like Mad For Each Other, the group didn’t do much after their return.

Around 2020-21, the members gradually began to enroll for their mandatory military conscription, further reducing their engagement with fans and the distribution of their work.

This, according to fans, grew as a result of their events not being properly scheduled. Because they were a newly formed band, there was a brief professional hiatus while the group figured out their place in the music industry.

Furthermore, the comebacks were held at different times, which could be dangerous for a rookie team. As more people express their concerns about the abrupt disbandment of a promising boy band, Twitter is flooded with fans’ reactions, thoughts, and fears, making it a hot topic.

While the majority of the news is depressing, supporters wish the members success in their future endeavors and promise to support them no matter what path they take.
