Survivor: Nicaragua contestant Dan Lembo passed away at the age of 75. His cause of death was not given in his obituary, which only stated that he passed away on September 3 at his Manhattan residence.
Lembo was remembered as a flamboyant, larger-than-life, gregarious bon vivant who loved nothing more than spending time with his children and both new and old acquaintances. Friends and relatives paid tribute to him.
The obituary stated that he enjoyed playing baseball with his friends in Bridgehampton on the weekends and that he would be remembered as a friend to everyone and a father of two.
The two sons of Dan, Matthew, and Michael, as well as their wives and five grandchildren, are still alive. In his obituary, Matt commended Dan for being his father and described him as his best friend.

Dan Lembo became well-known after competing on Survivor: Nicaragua. He did poorly at challenges, but his tribemates liked him, and throughout the pre-merge portion of the game, he was able to get out of many Tribal Councils. In the competition, he advanced to the final five.
He belonged to the Espada tribe and, although undergoing a couple of knee surgeries prior to the tournament, they had no impact on his performance. Dan was 63 years old when he took part in the 21st season of Survivor.
He was already a billionaire and had a successful real estate career before he signed up for Survivor: Nicaragua. He wore costly alligator shoes for the entire presentation.

Dan Lembo was kicked off of Survivor: Nicaragua, yet he still had a strong fan base. When news of his passing spread, Twitter was flooded with condolences. According to People, hundreds of people attended Lembo’s somber funeral on September 7.
