“David was brave in both life and music. In terms of pure personality and skill, he leaves a huge void on our planet. He expressed his ideas, heart, and passion through his lovely music, and he leaves an unforgettable legacy. These are the most important factors to consider. My thoughts are with his wife, Jan, his son, Django, and everyone he has touched in his life.”

Randy Bachman, a guitarist, and vocalist paid tribute to Crosby on Facebook as well, writing:

“Rest in peace, David Crosby. When BTO was a “bar band,” I sang a lot of his songs. I thought he was a fantastic composer and was impressed by how he overcame adversity and continued to create music. Millions of people will miss him, including his loved ones.”

David’s cause of death has not been disclosed, and no plans for a memorial have been made.

David Crosby has battled health issues in recent years

David needed a liver transplant in 1994 due to hepatitis C. He was eventually diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, which affected his weight. During a performance in 2008, audiences noticed his weight loss, which was caused by the disease.

He needed to use insulin to keep his diabetes under control. Crosby needed a heart catheterization and angiography in February 2014. His left anterior coronary artery was found to be 90% occluded, and blood supply to his heart muscles was restored with the help of two stents. He stated at the time:

“I’m glad I listened to my doctors and my family. It appears that I am once again a very fortunate man. I’m sorry we had to change the dates, but I can assure you that the music will be fantastic when we do.”

The doctors advised David to take some time off before returning to the stage for his performances. He was eventually forced to cancel performances at San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall and Los Angeles’ Troubadour.
