After a protracted illness, Soul passed away on Thursday in a London hospital, according to a TMZ report. Throughout his life, Soul dealt with several medical conditions, the most significant of which being chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
David believes that smoking three packs of cigarettes a day for fifty years is what caused his COPD. In addition, Soul overcame several obstacles in his life and discussed his health troubles in interviews.
Soul said, “I am a fighter and I did my way through this thing,” during an interview. The late actor also expressed gratitude to his wife and claimed that he wouldn’t be able to do what he did without her support.

Soul fought against COPD or chronic obstructive pulmonary illness. Aside from that, he had lung cancer removal from his left lung, and after that, he battled COPD nonstop.
In addition to COPD, David Soul had surgery to replace both of his hips, decompress his spine, and had a prosthetic disc inserted in his neck because of nerve damage that caused paralysis in his arms.
This prevented him from picking up the guitar. Similarly, he too used a wheelchair for a while. This demonstrates that the actor had several health problems before his death.

Moreover, Soul was Norwegian by birth. His father, Dr. Richard W. Solberg, was a Lutheran priest, and his mother, June Joanne, worked as a teacher.
Similarly, it has been said that David grew up with his brother Rev. Solberg, proving he was not their only child.
Aside from that, David has five boys and one daughter from his five marriages. In 1964, he wed actress Miriam “Mim” Solberg for the first time, and the two had a son.
