Denis Kealy, a man in his 40s, lost his life following a single-car accident on the R154 near Piercetown, close to Dunboyne, in Co. Meath, yesterday at around 2:30 p.m.
The senior manager of Dunshaughlin, Anthony Moyles, Ray Maloney, Neil O’Dwyer, and Denis Kealy were present. The driver was the lone passenger in the vehicle.
Denis, the managing director of Keamc Building Contractors, was transported by ambulance from the scene to St. James’ Hospital in Dublin, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
In the GAA community, the Dunshaughlin guy was well-liked. He took part in the region’s three consecutive county SFC championships, which included a Leinster success and an All-Ireland campaign, twenty years ago.

Denis Kealy, a member of the famous and popular Kealy Gaelic football family, was a key contributor to the legendary Dunshaughlin County SFC victory of around 20 years ago.
In county Meath, a single-vehicle accident claimed the life of a man yesterday.
Locals have identified him as 30-year-old Denis Kealy, managing director of Keamc Construction and a fervent fan of Dunshaughlin GFC.
In a message this morning on the Dunshaughlin & Royal Gaels Facebook page, the club writes: “It is with deep grief and a heavy heart that we write on the sudden and terrible loss of Denis Kealy.
We offer the Kealy family, friends, and loved ones our heartfelt condolences. As a community, we kindly ask that you remember the family at this extraordinarily tough time.
All training and club activities, according to the club, are suspended. The Kealy family has lately experienced two tragedies; Maria, Denis’ sister, passed away in December after a brief illness.

Denis led the senior squad as captain in 2009. His wife Charlene McAuley Kealy and children are still living.
This is the second tragedy to befall the Kealy family recently, the first being the illness-related death of Maria Kealy, Denis’ sister, in December. For the Meath Ladies, Maria played football herself.
Denis Kealy passed away suddenly and tragically, Dunshaughlin and Royal Gaels announced in a statement issued today. “It is with the deepest sadness and a heavy heart that we write on the sudden and tragic loss of Denis Kealy,” they added.

A old acquaintance of Denis remembered him as one of the most kind people they had ever encountered on Facebook. We send our condolences to thkindestamily, including his wife and their young sons. God give peace to his good soul.
In the preceding two months, there were six fatal caregivers in the region of Louth and Meath. Anyone who saw the incident is urged to contact the Gardai.
While the area was evacuated for a forensic investigation, local diversions were established up.
