Melnevia Whaley lost her life as a result of an automobile accident. She was one of two persons murdered early on Sunday along I-75 near Caniff.
Whaley was involved in an accident, stepped out to inspect her vehicle, and was fatally struck by a motorist who lost control. Melnevia was stopped on the side of the road by an EMS worker who wanted to check on her, according to Michigan State Police.
Matthew Madigan, the first responder who was murdered with Melnevia when a passing motorist lost control and hit them, was recognized by Superior Ambulance.
While the second collision victim was taken to the hospital and later declared dead, Melnevia was pronounced dead at the scene. The police agency is currently looking into the accident case and will undoubtedly provide additional information shortly.

The news of Melnevia Whaley’s passing devastated the family, and tributes to the deceased also started to flow in. All-access was prohibited to Melnevia.
