Windy City Rehab Lawsuits by Donovan Eckhardt

In season 1 of the HGTV show, Donovan Eckhardt and Alison Victoria finished their renovation and sold one of the renovated homes to James and Anna for $1.36 million. However, the homeowner soon experienced plumbing issues when the water from the shower flooded their kitchen.

As a result, Anna and James agreed to sue Donovan and Alison. Shane and Samantha, another couple, sued them for the flaws found after the renovation. According to court records, the pair spent a total of $100k on the renovation. The reality stars had problems as well, as their under-construction ventures were delayed due to permit issues.

Their problems don’t stop there. In June 2020, one of Donovan and Alsion’s partners, Michael Ward Jr., filed a fraud case against them. Michael had admittedly invested $3 million on the ventures featured on Windy City Rehab, for which Donovan vowed to reimburse him. The network didn’t let the breakup of the joint venture deter them from shooting the second season, in which Alison was seen dealing with court cases.

Donovan Eckhardt- Relationship, Married Life

HGTV viewers thought Alison Victoria was Donovan Eckhardt’s wife at first. When they figured out the co-stars weren’t dating, their hearts split. Erica Eckhardt, Donovan Eckhardt’s wife, is his life partner. Erica can be reached at @ececkhardt on Instagram.

Donovan and his wife married in August of 2012 and have two children (both daughters). Charlotte was born less than two years after they married. In late 2015, the couple welcomed their second child into the world. Donovan and his wife will mark their eighth year of marriage in August of 2020. And in response to that, the HGTV star posted on his Facebook page, saying,

“For better or for worse, for richer or for worse, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish, until death does us part, or until Erica murders me!” It’s been eight years! It’s nothing short of a marriage miracle.”

This meant that Donovan and Erica are deeply in love and are getting closer as a couple. Aside from that, no details about Donovan’s married life have been published.

Donovan Eckhardt- Professional Career

Donovan entered CD Group as a partner in June of 2004 right after graduation. The construction firm is headquartered in the Chicago metropolitan area. He served as an Architect and General Contractor for the company.

Donovan went on to found VizCorp, Eckhardt Properties, and BE Custom Millwork, all of which he started in January 2009. Donovan founded Greymark Development Group, LLC in 2013 and has been working there ever since.

In 2019, Donovan co-starred in HGTV’s Windy City Rehab with interior designer Alison Victoria. Alison and Donovan paired up to renovate a run-down house into a luxurious residence. They sold it to potential buyers after the renovation.

The renovation, however, began to fall apart after just a few months, and the homeowners sued the due and their team for the costly repairs. Victoria reacted by blaming Donovan for everything because she was unaware of his dealings.

Alison delegated all financial dealings to Donovan so she could concentrate on her projects. Since Donovan did not participate in the season 2 promotion, fans of the show have concluded that he will not be collaborating with HGTV or the show. Donovan Eckhardt is said to have a net worth of $3.5 million as of 2020.
