Drew Desbordes gave birth to Druski on September 12, 1994. He was born in Maryland but raised in Georgia’s Gwinnett County. Capt. David McLain Desbordes and Cheryl Desbordes have two children, with Drew being the older of the two. His parents both have successful occupations and strong academic backgrounds.
Therefore, when their kid decided to pursue a profession in entertainment, David and Cheryl weren’t too happy about it.
“Upset” didn’t even begin to describe it, according to Drew. He remembered in an interview with GQ that “my mum used really lose it—like literally cry.”
Drew’s mother was disappointed when he left college, and his grandmother threatened to break things off. That just strengthened his resolve to disprove them, and he went on to establish himself as a comic with an appeal outside of traditional comedy clubs such as on TikTok and Instagram.
David, the father of Druski, received his degree from Howard University, where he participated in the ROTC program. He received admission to the U.S. Air Force Academy, finished his training to become a flying officer, and joined the Air Force.
He served in the Pittsburgh National Guard before departing with the rank of captain and was given the promotion to major there. He joined United Airlines as a commercial pilot after leaving the military.
Cheryl Desbordes, the mother of Drew Desbordes, graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a master’s degree in public health and the University of Maryland Baltimore County with a bachelor’s degree in the field. She has been employed by state departments since the 1980s.
The Georgia Department of Public Health, Georgia Department of Human Resources, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, DeKalb County Board of Health and Georgia Department of Vital Records were some of Cheryl’s most notable employments. Recently, she has occasionally posted on social media about fact-checking state regulations for COVID-19 initiatives.
She wasn’t overjoyed when Druski dropped out of college and moved in with his mom. Particularly considering that she was using her retirement funds to pay for his college expenses.
Cheryl was even more irritated when Johnny staged his Internet acts in the living room. Druski was inspired to improve his material and increase his following by his mother’s annoyance.
Cheryl presumably realizes now that her son is a rising star. She yet holds out hope that the Sneakin’ In With Druski host will finish his degree by returning to school.
Nadia Desbordes, Drew Desbordes’ younger sister, was born in 2006. In high school, Nadia is a standout volleyball player. When she graduates in 2024, she will have the chance to play collegiate volleyball.
