Fans have speculated on the causes of his bad health, with some believing he is suffering from a mental illness. Dustin Fox is a former NFL cornerback who played from 2005 to 2008. The athlete formerly attended GlenOak High School and competed in two sports, football and track and field.
Dustin discovered his passion for football and attended Ohio State University, where he led the team to the 2002 BCS National Championship. Furthermore, the player was selected in the third round (80th overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft and has played for several different teams. He tweeted:
“Unless you’ve been there, no one understands the impact it has on your mind and family. “My military friends get it.”Nobody else understands.”
Given this, many of his supporters and followers voiced concerns about his health and wished him well. Dustin thanked his fans for their nice remarks and announced his brief absence from the airwaves. He, too, thanked the NFL and later commended ESPN for their support. Although the former athlete has not stated a specific cause, individuals and the media have speculated that he may be suffering from anxiety or CTE.
The Athlete’s Post-Retirement Career
After leaving professional football, Dustin Fox sought a career in sports broadcasting. In 2010, he signed on with Cleveland ABC station WEWS channel 5 as an Ohio State Buckeyes football pundit. During the 2010 college football season, he contributed game reports to WKNR AM 850’s OSU pregame program.
After that, he headed to WKRK-FM 92.3 to co-host the afternoon drive show with Adam Gerstenhaber. Dustin started working as a radio color commentator for the Cleveland Gladiators Arena Football League home games in 2012.
Similarly, he improved his abilities by co-hosting the Browns radio network’s postgame show. Currently, the broadcaster works in a variety of roles, including college football commentator on ESPN networks. He also appears on the Cleveland Browns Radio Network during games.
