Eddie Jackson Will Host A New Food Network Show Called “Outchef’d”

Eddie Jackson

We can’t help but watch the new Outchef’d competition series on the Food Network.

The show will feature some accomplished but unaware home cooks who will come up for a “audition” and are shocked to learn that they will be competing against a top-tier professional in the industry.

Outchef’d will be presented by former NFL player Eddie Jackson, who is currently a private chef and personal trainer. Eddie is renowned for making healthy food appealing, so his audience does not require a “cheat” day. He has appeared in a number of Food Network programs as a judge and host.

Cooking has been Eddie Jackson’s lifelong passion

The Carolina Panthers inked 1980-year-old Eddie Jackson as an undrafted free agent in 2004. At the University of Arkansas, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in business administration and management, he stole the show with his exceptional athletic prowess.

Eddie has competed in track and field competitions as a national college all-american four times. He continues to hold the freshman record for most high hurdles cleared with 110.

From 2005 to 2006, Eddie was a member of the Miami Dolphins, but due to a torn ligament in his knee, he was placed on injured reserve. Jackson joined the New England Patriots in 2007 on a two-year contract with no signing bonus.

He was fired by the Patriots the following year, despite making more than $1,500,000 in each of those years. The Outchef’d presenter bought his own food truck after giving up sports because he had always loved to cook. In addition, he participated in MasterChef Season 4 and came in eighth. Eddie entered the Food Network universe in 2015 after competing in and winning the popular program Food Network Star.

He received his own 6-episode program to host on the network as payment for his enormous achievement. Eddie presently serves as the host of the Kids BBQ Championship after having judged Chopped and Clash of the Grandmas. He also runs The Rose Hill Beer Garden, where eight food trucks alternately serve delicious meals to patrons.

Outstanding home cooks are invited to participate in Outchef’d under the premise of an audition by preparing a dish to compete against a top-tier chef.

These home cooks are successful in their own kitchens, but could they defeat a top chef in a gourmet competition?

Presenter Eddie will pick six locals to serve as blind tasters after giving each cook instructions to prepare a meal utilizing a featured item. If any one of the six judges awards a home cook even one point for their dish, they might win $5,000. Outchef’d will air on the Food Network on September 27 at 10 p.m. ET. On the same day, Discovery+ subscribers will also have access to the two-part special’s premiere.
