Sasha Farber and Emma Slater of DWTS filed for divorce on February 21, 2023, after being separated for nearly a year.
According to formal court documents, the couple cited “irreconcilable disagreements” as the reason for the official split, with the separation date set for April 1, 2022. In October 2016, Sasha Farber proposed to Emma during a live DWTS show, and the couple married two years later. During the proposal, he stated:
“This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, Sweetheart. I adore you completely. Will you marry me?”
After three years of dating, Sasha Farber and Emma Slater of DWTS have temporarily split
The DWTS couple met on the Broadway stage of Scorch The Floor, and they confirmed their engagement two years later in 2011. They ended their romance in 2014, after three years together, but decided to remain friends and collaborate closely. Emma told Vogue that she adores Sasha and that the two were still living together when they split up. The performer went on to say that he was the most amazing person she had ever met and that she would not have been so close to him for three years if she hadn’t thought the world of him.
She continued, saying:
“He’s simply the best guy. I don’t think we’re supposed to end up together. I believe there are other people who can make us both happy, but I will always be his best friend. Right now, I feel like his best friend. It just happened in the same way that we transitioned from a wonderful three-year partnership that I adore and treasure to being closest friends.”
She expressed her satisfaction with their living arrangements as well as her admiration for him. Emma stated that they both recognized that things were not going as they should, so they matured and made that decision. She continued by saying that they were still in love and that he was the only person she had in America. They made the decision to stick together because she wanted the best for him.
A year later, in 2015, the DWTS couple reunited and decided to give love another chance, and Slater proposed a year later. Farber told Us that Emma and Sasha’s wedding was like something out of a fairy tale. He went on to say that he kept telling his new bride how beautiful she was.
Emma continued, saying:
“We are currently at the top of the world. It was the most amazing day. It was truly amazing. There was no blunder. It was incredible. It was incredible. ‘This isn’t normal,’ I reminded myself. This is not common. This should never have happened.’ It went so well, and it was a party from the time we arrived at the banquet upstairs until late at night.”
The DWTS couple divorced in August 2022, according to an insider, and there was no animosity between them at the time. The couple filed for divorce not long ago. DWTS recently completed season 31 and has been renewed for a second season on Disney+.
