Emmy Rossum: Inside Her Beautiful Wedding And Proposal

Emmy Rossum

Emmy Rossum married her husband, Sam Esmail, in May 2017.

Rossum married for the second time, having previously married Justin Siegel from 2008 to 2010.

The intimate wedding festivities took place at New York City’s Central Synagogue on East 55th Street.

It was a star-studded affair, with guests including Robert Downey Jr., William H. Macy, and Shanola Hampton from Shameless.

Mr. Robot stars Rami Malek, Christian Slater, Carly Chaikin, and Hilary Swank attended the wedding as well.

After the professionals, the newlyweds and their guests made their way to the Upper East Side’s Guggenheim Museum for a lavish reception.

Emmy Rossum Discussed Her Wedding

Rossum wore an embellished, off-the-shoulder Carolina Herrera gown with a dramatic train.

The Shameless actress told Vogue that she knew she wanted Herera to design her wedding gown.

Rossum collaborated on the special with Jo Baker, who did her bridal makeup, and stylist Thomas Carter Phillips, who assisted her with accessorizing.

Her vintage Chaumet round-cut diamond engagement ring, circa 1920, was the most important accessory on her special day.

She told the outlet that she and her husband had seen each other in the early days of their relationship.

Esmail had asked her what kind of ring she would like if they ever got married.

“‘I’d like something like this,’ I said. It’s old; I like old things because I like the history behind them and I like to imagine who wore them before me “shared the Poisedon star.

But she had no idea that later that week, her husband would return to the store and put a deposit on the ring.

The Sweetest Proposal Ever by Emmy Rossum’s Husband

Two years later, the creator of Mr. Robot proposed with that ring.

Rossum also opened up about the sweetest proposal, telling Vogue that the couple read the “Modern Love” section of the New York Times every Sunday.

“I give him a dramatic reading of it. Even though we are not in the same location, I read it to him over the phone “Rossum agreed.

But, for some reason, they missed it on Sunday, but Esmail reminded her the following Friday that she hadn’t.

Rossum initially refused, but after some persuasion from her husband, she read it while taking a bath and sipping a glass of wine.

As she read, she realized the story was about a director who falls in love with an actress, which she recognized.

At first, the actress believed Esmail had published their story in the paper and that everyone except her was aware of it.

However, when she got to the end and saw “Love, your Sam,” she realized Esmail had gone through the entire process of writing this entire story.

The director had asked a newspaper friend to print a genuine mock-up of the paper.

She got out of the bath, wrapped herself in a towel, and resumed reading when she realized it was a proposal.

Her husband was in the tub with her, down on one knee, by the time she was finished.

The couple is still madly in love to this day.
