Erich and Gabby met while watching The Bachelorette season 19 and got engaged. Less than two months after getting engaged, the couple broke up in the season finale.

Erich has no animosity against Gabby despite their tragic split since he thinks she is a “great person,” and he will always support her.
Erich Schwer also claimed that after the breakup, he has used his “experiences and failures” to continually improve. On Monday’s episode of DWTS, former Bachelorette Gabby spoke up about her divorce from Erich and gave the reasons why their relationship didn’t work out.

During The Bachelorette’s 19th season, Erich and Gabby first became acquainted. Before taking part in The Bachelorette, Gabby worked very hard to find love in Clayton Echard’s season of The Bachelor, but she was let down in the end.
On The Bachelorette, Gabby was positive she would find the perfect man. After meeting several potential suitors on the dating program, Gabby had her heart set on Erich, a real estate expert.
During the two-part episode on September 20, Erich expressed his feelings to Gabby and proposed to her, saying he was “head over heels in love” with her and “wants to spend the rest of his life” with her.
The couple got engaged live on television after Gabby said yes to the proposal. Erich used to cheer Gabby on often during DWTS. Shortly after, Gabby was seen for various dance program tapings without her engagement ring, suggesting their breakup.
The former couple had gone through a lot of ups and downs even before they separated. Erich received criticism for using blackface in his high school yearbook while they were dating.
He eventually expressed regret for his earlier behavior, but it damaged his friendship with Gabby. When his ex-girlfriend released text exchanges in which they claimed to have broken up for him to be on The Bachelorette, Erich soon found himself embroiled in a new scandal. The former couple has now publicly acknowledged their separation.
