Before getting a job at Barstool, Brandon had trouble making a living as a writer and podcaster.
After graduating from Mississippi State, Brandon began writing professionally. He worked his way up to editor, but he struggled to transition from local newspapers to national news outlets. Brandon relocated across the nation to work for large corporations, but he was always hired by smaller media.
Walker needed a job with pay that would allow him to support his expanding family comfortably. He had several failures in his pursuit of a well-paying job, but he persisted. For Walker, the opening at Barstool was ideal. He possessed the personality to carry out the position and had adequate experience working as a sports writer.
Brandon decided to accept the position after talking to his wife. Because Walker is allowed to speak freely when the camera starts rolling, Barstool has earned Brandon’s love. In an interview that was published on Barstool’s YouTube channel, he said:

Brandon was unsure of his wife’s reaction when he informed her that they would need to travel to New York because he had been hired by Barstool Sports. Walker was surprised by the positive response he received. Being overjoyed that Brandon had received the huge break that his dedication had earned, his wife consented to move without any restrictions.
The following day, she told her workplace of her impending relocation and began making preparations to move the family to New York. Brandon called his wife’s support “weird” and said he wasn’t sure if he would have acted the same way if he had been his wife. He stated:
“I would have blocked the road. I would have succeeded eventually, but we would have had to jump over all the barriers I would have placed in our way. She has no barriers.
Brandon and his wife have had time to deepen their relationship as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Brandon, however, stated on Twitter that his wife had been posing some awkward questions. On April 2, 2020, he tweeted the following:
“My wife and I have reunited and had some wonderful discussions about quarantine. She has been asking me a lot of questions today, including “Wanna go for a walk?” “What do you think about starting the keto diet?” and “Have you considered giving up sugar?”

At Barstool, Brandon has undoubtedly disproved everyone’s assumptions. He is aware that David Portnoy’s dispute with MyBookie, and not the promise David saw in him, is why he was given a job offer at Barstool.
