Judy McCarthy’s Parents
Judy Wages was born on December 6, 1964, in Frazier Park, California. She is one of Sharon and Harvey Wages’s’s four children.
In 2018, Judy’s brother, William Wages, was in the news for reportedly misrepresenting his ancestry. It also cast a shadow of doubt on Kevin and Judy McCarthy.
According to the Los Angeles Times, William Wages obtained over $7.0 million in no-bid and other federal contracts for government assets by claiming Native American ancestry. William obtained the contracts through Vortex Construction, which he shares with their mother, Sharon Wages.
Vortex filed for the contracts through the Small Business Administration’s minority contractor program. To qualify for the bid, William claimed Cherokee ancestry.
William, on the other hand, is described as white on his birth certificate. Furthermore, the documents he supplied to verify his Native American lineage is of a non-legitimate Cherokee tribe, according to legally recognized Cherokee tribes.
Members of the Wages family had various roles in the Vortex. Judy McCarthy was also a partner in the company, although she was no longer involved with it. While the investigation found no evidence of this, ethics watchdogs claimed Kevin McCarthy directed work to Vortex.

The Marriage of Judy and Kevin McCarthy
Judy Wages and Kevin McCarthy, both lifelong Bakersfield locals, met when they were students at Bakersfield High School. They met in biology class and have been together ever since.
The high school sweethearts have been through thick and thin since their wedding in August 1992. McCarthy was suspected of having an affair with Rep. Renee Ellmers in 2015, but both denied it. That incident also did not affect Judy and Kevin’s relationship.
Kevin and Judy McCarthy’s Children
They have two children, Meghan (born on August 2, 1996) and Connor (born on April 3, 1994).
With Kevin’s developing political career, the parents decided that at least one of them would keep the children on a flexible schedule. Given Meghan’s fight with Lyme illness, which necessitated regular doctor visits, their arrangement worked well.
