On Tuesday, October 18, 2022, Dateline: Unforgettable will examine the 2015 murder of Michael Reese, a native of Morris, Alabama. Reese’s wife and her prominent Baptist church pastor lover were both convicted of his murder.
After going home after church and dinner at Milo’s on a February evening, the couple was slain at their Banks Street residence. Cindy Reese allegedly shot Michael in the head and staged the crime scene to make it appear as if he had been robbed.
A month into the investigation, Cindy and her then-boyfriend Jeffrey Brown was arrested and accused of Michael’s murder.
Even the Devil Went to Church, the next episode, will explore the planned murder, which was motivated by the wife’s desire to begin a new life with her boyfriend. The show will air at 8 p.m. ET on Oxygen, according to the promo.

Cindy and Michael Reese married in 2009, following the suspected suicide of Cindy’s previous marriage. The couple’s marriage appeared to be perfect until it was discovered that Cindy was having an affair with Jeffrey Brown, the senior pastor of the local Baptist church where she served as a music minister.
In 2013, Cindy and Jeffrey began dating while still married to their respective spouses. During the same time period, the Brown and Reese families were close.
Their love had its ups and downs, but it was reported that they intended to build a future together and had combined their resources.

Cindy Reese, according to sources, shot her husband in the head at close range before leaving their home to get groceries.
When she returned home, she staged the crime scene to resemble a robbery before calling 911 to report her husband’s passing. When officers arrived at the property, they discovered a Piggly Wiggly bag with ham and orange juice.

During Cindy Reese’s incarceration, her then-boyfriend Jeffrey Brown attempted to place the responsibility on her. According to him, she frequently expressed her desire to remove Michael from the equation.

Jeffrey asserts that he disposed of the.38 revolver and transferred the jewelry to a woman on Highway 75 in Pinson. Cindy denied all of the charges, asserting that she met Jeffrey and gave him $15 for gas.
