Frida Gustavsson Of Vikings: Valhalla Has Continually Desired To Become An Actress

Frida Gustavsson

On February 25, Vikings: Valhalla, the widely anticipated spin-off of the fan-favorite History Channel series Vikings, made its premiere on the popular streaming website Netflix. Jeb Stuart created the historical action-adventure program.

Since Vikings: Valhalla appeared on Netflix, fans, and critics have heaped praise on the performers’ budding acting abilities.

Sam Corlett portrays famed explorer Leif Eriksson, whose sister Freydis Eriksdotter is masterfully portrayed by Frida Gustavsdottir, and Leo Suter portrays Nordic prince Harald Sigurdsson.

Gustavsson’s former modeling career has come to light due to the popularity of Vikings: Valhalla and the actress have disclosed their body image worries prior to modeling.

Frida Gustavsson of Valhalla had always desired to be an actor, but body image worries prevented her from pursuing this goal.

Pursuing a career in the entertainment industry is terrifying and stressful. Frida Gustavsson, on the other hand, not only confronted these issues head-on and built a successful career as a model, but she also had the courage to abandon them when she was at her peak in order to follow her biggest ambition of becoming an actress.

Frida currently delights in the release of Vikings: Valhalla. She also took the time to provide some fascinating information about her modeling and acting careers.

In a recent interview with Collider, the actress revealed that she has always desired to be an actress:

“I’ve always loved performing in front of an audience. Therefore, I was a performer when I was younger. When I approached puberty, I went from being a tiny child to becoming exceedingly tall, like a stick figure, and I struggled with that. I was taking acting classes at the time.”

Before entering the modeling industry, the 28-year-old woman apparently stated that she felt insecure and did not feel comfortable in her own skin. Frida discussed her body image worries and how they made her feel terrible about herself.

“I felt uncomfortable in my own skin. At school, every female had breasts, but I was merely straight, and I did not feel very good about myself. So I lost the confidence to stand before others and say, “Look at me!”

Frida Gustavsson explained how she was granted a modeling job unexpectedly. She couldn’t quite believe it.

However, after discussing it with her father, the actress realized that it would be a great opportunity for her to burst out of her shell and demonstrate her abilities to the world:

“And, by divine providence, someone had a plan for me to deal with it all, so I was scouted eating meatballs in Ikea. The most Swedish thing I’ve ever witnessed! When they approached me originally, they asked, “Oh, do you want to be a model?”

“I wondered, “What?” as I choked on my meatball. My father, who was present, and I agreed that it could be a good idea for me to try to break out of my shell and become more confident in myself.”

Frida and her father were correct in their prognostications, as her modeling career took off rapidly. She has featured in a variety of prestigious fashion shows, including those for Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen, Chanel, and Jean-Paul Gaultier.

In 2011, she was also named Elle Sweden’s Model of the Year. Her modeling career was thriving, but she yearned for something else. During the course of the interview, Frida added:

“I’ve always desired a career as an actress. I’ve always had the feeling, “This is the only thing I’ll ever be truly good at.” This is the only endeavor I’ve ever desired. But I also have so much respect for the craft, and I think coming from a modeling background, people sometimes look at you a certain way, and it can be difficult to be taken seriously at times, so I was well aware that transitioning into acting in the way that I wanted to act would not be an easy road.”

Frida Gustavsson’s incredible performance as Freydis Eriksdotter in the Netflix series Vikings: Valhalla suggests she is on the right path.
