Hawn was born in Washington, D.C., to parents Laura and Edward Rutledge Hawn, who ran a dancing studio and owned a jewelry store, respectively.
She was given her mother’s aunt’s name. Patti Hawn, an entertainment publicist, is her only sibling; their brother Edward Jr. passed away in infancy before Patti was born.
