The Suwon District Court charged Han Seo Hee with taking psychotropic drugs while on probation for her previous conviction. In 2016, when she was arrested for marijuana possession, she was already facing drug charges.
She was placed on probation for four years for the same offense. The former intern was also observed hurling profanities before the court in November 2021, following the judgment, when she was arrested for flight risk.
The notorious K-pop trainee was given a one-year-and-a-half-year term for drug offenses. When she was accused of using psychoactive substances such as methamphetamine and amphetamine, she was already on probation.
Han Seo Hee Charges
In 2016, Han Seo Hee was accused of getting marijuana four times and using it seven times in her home in Jung-gu, Seoul.
In 2017, she was given a suspended sentence of three years in prison, an 870,000 won fine, four years of probation, and 120 hours of drug treatment programs.
Also, In July of last year, during her probationary period, she tested positive for psychotropic medications and was detained at the probation office.
She claimed there was an error in the urine test at the time, so the National Forensics Institute administered a hair test.
The hair test proved negative, allowing her to maintain her probation. Nonetheless, the prosecution then accused Han Seo Hee of possession of methamphetamine.
She pleaded not guilty and claimed that the test findings were incorrect since her cup had fallen in the restroom during the exam.
The judge in Han Seo Hee’s case stated after the ruling that her claims were incorrect because the amount of methampetamine found in the cup exceeded 300 nanograms, as determined by the National Institute of Scientific Investigation.
Consequently Judge Kim,
“It is unlikely that the water supply contains sufficient amphetamine to affect Han Seo Hee’s test results.”
Although she was the only woman present during the pee test, Judge Kim ruled that her claim that her test result was mixed with that of other individuals could not be accepted.
According to the verdict of the Suwon District Court, which was upheld by the Supreme Court:
“the defendant continues to make irrational statements while refusing to consider the illegality of her acts.”
Fans React to Referee Decisions
Supporters hailed the Supreme Court’s decision to sentence the former trainee to prison for his actions. She has also angered K-pop fans by spreading rumors about other K-pop celebrities. Han Seo-hee has a controversial history in the K-pop music industry.
She was one of the most promising K-pop trainees when she first joined JYP Entertainment, however, she subsequently left for unknown reasons. She was also slated to make her debut on G-Friend, but she never did.
Han also failed to debut with the K-pop girl group Gugudan and was in the news for leaving various agencies for personal reasons before allegedly signing with YG Entertainment.
She soon became embroiled in a series of feuds and scandals that shook the K-pop industry, garnering her legendary status.
Her most infamous instances include her arrest for marijuana consumption with BIGBANG’s T.O.P. and her role in the drug dispute involving IKON’s B.I.
The majority of the rumors that the former trainee has disseminated about K-pop singers have proven to be false throughout the years, sparking controversy.
