Heo Chan of VICTON issued a personal apology on September 23, 2022, for his reckless driving under the influence. The 26-year-old K-pop superstar will take a vacation from all group and solo activities. According to IST Entertainment, the artist’s driver’s license is being investigated and will likely be revoked.
In his letter, Heo Chan expressed regret for his conduct and apologized for the 20 September 2022 occurrences.
“Hello. Heo Chan is present. First and foremost, I really apologize for having to convey this terrible news so close to numerous significant events. I apologize once more for causing societal unrest on September 20 as a result of my mistakes.
He continued by stating that he felt responsible for his actions and the grief they had caused not only to VICTON, but also to those working behind the scenes to assist the organization.
“As a prominent individual who should be providing a positive example for the broader public and my followers, I should have felt even more responsibility for my behavior, but I ended up inflicting enormous disappointment by making the wrong choice in a split second.”
He then continued:
Above all, I found myself reflecting on myself and my flaws while thinking of our fans who have spent the past six years believing in me and cheering for me, as well as my fellow [VICTON] members, people at our agency, our many staff members, and the countless others who must have been hurt by my actions.
Heo Chan of VICTON also genuinely apologized for causing “hurt and disappointment” to his followers and people close to him.
IST Entertainment has stated that VICTON’s Heo Chan will take a leave of absence due to drunk driving.
According to startling reports, VICTON will temporarily advertise as a five-member group commencing September 22. This includes upcoming activities, such as their CHRONICLE fan concert next month.
The decision was reached when IST Entertainment reported that VICTON’s Heo Chan was detained for DUI on September 20. He was returning home after a gathering with his friends. Currently, he is cooperating fully with police investigations.
According to the agency, Heo Chan was sorry and contemplating his actions. They also apologized for any inconvenience caused to the affected parties and fans. His suspension duration was not indicated by the company.
The member of VICTON also submitted a letter through his agency on the same day as his formal announcement. In the letter, he expressed regret, adding that he was “sincerely thinking on my wrongdoing” and “spending each and every day immersed in regret and self-blame.”
Regarding his contrition, Heo Chan of VICTON concluded his letter with scathing remarks. Heo stated that he would reflect on the criticisms directed against him for his irresponsible behavior and endeavor to improve himself. He said,
“Compared to the agony and disillusionment that all of you must have endured as a result of this incident, I will repent many times more honestly and feel this [penitence] to the depths of my bones.”
He proceeded:
“I will store in my heart all the criticism and condemnation I receive for my irreversible deeds, and I will carefully reflect on myself so that I may live my life while becoming a person I am not ashamed of.”
On October 15 and 16, 2022, Heo Chan of VICTON will be absent from the upcoming fan concert CHRONICLE.
