The National City Police Department launched an investigation when the adolescent child’s father complained that Ma had abused her 13-year-old. After the complaint was filed, the instructor was taken into custody the next day after police found probable cause. According to the police, the instructor was first imprisoned on many criminal counts before being freed on bond.
Detectives re-arrested the instructor on Thursday after doing further research, and they added new criminal charges, which resulted in Ma’s arrest. The instructor was re-arrested on felony counts, including having child pornography and attempting to stop or discourage a witness or victim, according to online San Diego County Sheriff’s Department detention records. Police withheld specifics regarding the illegal activities because the victim was a kid.

Brady, according to NBC 7, voiced her worry about the circumstance and called it “deeply troubling.” Ma had been on leave, according to the superintendent, and would not be coming back to school. She has a bachelor’s in biology and a master’s in teaching, according to her San Diego Union-Tribune biography as Teacher of the Year.
Ma is now detained at an institution for women without being given a bond. She is charged with four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and seven counts of having child pornography. She is also accused of trying to hinder a witness from testifying as well as two charges of engaging in indecent or lascivious actions with a kid.
