The arrest of Josh McDaniels is widely reported on the internet, although this is not wholly accurate. After the Raiders suffered a Monday Night Football loss to the Detroit Lions and a lackluster start to the season in 2023, he was terminated on October 31.

In contrast, McDaniels’ performance during his second tenure was inferior to that of his 2009–2010 seasons with the Denver Broncos.
The Raiders announced late Tuesday night that head coach McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler had been fired by owner Mark Davis.
Two teams dismissed McDaniels before the conclusion of his second season, making him the first coach in Super Bowl history to not serve as an interim coach.
Davis said in a statement, “After much consideration of what the Raiders require to move forward, I have decided to part ways with Josh and Dave.” “I wish to convey my sincere appreciation for their diligent work and extend my warmest regards to them and their families.”
