He’s recently been in the spotlight after defeating UCLA in the Rose Bowl by a score of 40-37. With 14 seconds left, he went ahead and completed a 13-yard touchdown pass to win the game.

Jake began his professional career in the sport of American football. Over three years and more than 35 games, he concluded his high school career with 8,464 yards on 597 for 977 passing, a school record of 90 touchdowns and 24 interceptions, and a school record of 90 touchdowns and 24 interceptions. As a junior, he completed 208 of 321 passes for 3,005 yards, 35 touchdowns, and only six interceptions. As a sophomore, he passed for 2,483 yards on 219-377 passing with 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He redshirted in 2017. The next year, he played four games and made his UW debut by defeating North Dakota.
He also faced teams from Oregon State, BYU, California, and others. In his second season, he was permanently replaced by Jake Fromm due to a knee injury. He was seen playing for Fresno State University, where he passed for 2,021 yards and 15 touchdowns in only six games. In 2022, he may be able to play in more seasons. His other quarterback teammates include Joseph Campbell, Logan Fife, Jaylen Henderson, and Anthony Arnou.
