OxGaps reported a sad accident at Firehouse 9 Farm in Gilmer on July 4, 2023. A fireworks explosion killed Jared, its owner, and wounded four others. The tragedy occurred when the center’s personnel were prepping fireworks for a Tuesday night event.
They were finishing 300 3-inch pyrotechnics shells when an electric match that feeds a shell exploded. The explosion that killed Maddox is still being investigated. However, early evidence suggests an accident. Further investigation is ongoing by the Texas State Fire Marshal’s Office and ATF, as reported on YouTube.
