“A gasoline fire caused me to get severe burns.” In a week or two, I’ll be back to normal.
Leno reportedly had “serious burns” to his hands and face. He postponed his appearance the next day at a finance conference in Las Vegas due to “a significant medical concern.” He is receiving treatment for his burns, and a hospital representative confirmed that his status is stable. The spokesperson continued:
He is in great spirits, touched by everyone’s inquiries and well wishes on his health, and he desires to let everyone know he is doing well.
When one of Jay Leno’s cars in his Los Angeles garage caught fire, he suffered severe burns to his face in addition to other serious injuries.
He was immediately sent to the Grossman Burn Center. Leno’s accident was first reported by People, albeit no specifics regarding the face burns were given at the time. He canceled his attendance at a convention that was scheduled to take place in Las Vegas on Sunday due to illness.
An email addressed to participants states that:
“His family was unable to provide us with many details, but Jay is unable to go owing to a serious medical condition,” the statement continued. All we know is that he is still alive, so tonight our hearts go out to him and his family.
Since Leno has recently spoken out about having high cholesterol, many of his fans concluded that his decision to postpone attending the event was due to a health issue with his cholesterol. He posted a video in 2019 urging his followers to get regular cholesterol testing and adding:
There are many people out there who are similar to him; they are like ticking time bombs. You know you don’t even know you have all this cholesterol until it hits you. It’s comparable to how, in a car, if even a small amount of dirt gets into the needle of the jet, there is a bang and no more gas can be released. Your heart suffers as a result.
