Between 1978 and 1991, Dahmer killed and disfigured seventeen men and youngsters. In his later murders, cannibalism, necrophilia, and the long-term storage of body parts—usually the whole or part of the skeleton—were regularly employed.

Despite having been diagnosed with psychotic disorder, schizotypal personality disorder, and borderline personality disorder, Jeffrey’s legal sanity was maintained throughout his trial.

On February 17, 1992, Dahmer was found guilty of sixteen killings that he had committed in Wisconsin and was sentenced to fifteen years to life in prison.

However, Dahmer was sentenced to sixteen years in prison for a separate murder he carried out in Ohio in 1978.

Christopher Scarver, a fellow inmate at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin, killed Dahmer on November 28, 1994.

Following his demise, Dahmer’s remains were incinerated, and his ashes were distributed among his parents.

Many people were stunned to learn of Dahmer’s passing; while some of his loved ones were relieved to hear the news, others were saddened and found his passing difficult to accept.
