Ricky Reel Death: Meet His Mother Sukhdev And Father Sukhdev Reel

Ricky Reel

Police are reexamining the death of a student whose body was found in the River Thames 25 years ago. On Tuesday, the Met Police’s central inquiries specialized casework unit disclosed that it was reexamining the case and concentrating on certain lines of inquiry from the initial probe.

Police will now look at Ricky Reel’s case with “fresh eyes” after spending a 25th Christmas without him, Ricky Reel’s mother Sukhdev Reel has been informed. A force spokeswoman said that those lines of inquiry are being followed with fresh eyes and the use of modern technology in order to provide Ricky’s family with answers.

Sukhdev Reel has fought for answers with his mother and other family members for many years. According to Sukhdev Reel, her son was the target of a racist assault. On the 25th anniversary of Ricky’s passing, the Police released a new appeal.

What Became of Ricky Reel’s Death?

20-year-old Ricky Reel was found dead a week after going missing on October 15, 1997, while out having fun in Kingston upon Thames, south-west London. The night before he disappeared, two white teens attacked Mr. Reel and his pals, a group of young Asian guys. The Met Police stated that the probe would be reevaluated to take all possibilities into account. As his buddies pushed the two attackers off, Mr. Reel fled.

The trip Ricky’s parents took was long and arduous. His mother alleges that her son Ricky Reel was killed in a racial crime in the British town of Kingston-Upon-Thames in 1997. The local police were requested by the family to check into the issue further, but they decided against writing it off as an accident.

Mother Sukhdev Reel and father Balwant Reel were the parents of Ricky Reel. They claimed that the Police made a number of errors during the case investigation. Mrs. Reel alleged police spied on her because of her race after learning in 2014 that they had gathered information about her during their investigation into the death of her son.

Police argued that there was no evidence that officers had singled out the families of Campaign participants or the Campaign itself. Mrs. Reel expressed her hope that, under the new leadership of Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley, the Met Police would finally approach this matter with an open mind and make every attempt to obtain justice for my son.

What presumption did the police have about Ricky’s passing?

Ricky may have perished after unintentionally falling into the Thames while attempting to urinate, according to the police’s conclusion. At the subsequent inquest, it was discovered that neither the scene nor Ricky’s clothing had produced any forensic evidence.

The Police assumed Ricky had fallen in while urinating because of the open buttons on his jeans. Ricky, however, reportedly feared open water, and it was common for garments to open and get loose in the water, according to family members and witnesses at the inquiry.

The inquest heard that the Police delayed gathering important CCTV or speaking with prospective witnesses until months after Ricky’s death, which prevented them from finding any crucial clues. Mrs. Reel claims that because of Ricky’s color, the police did not take the investigation seriously and did not obtain crucial evidence.
