Death Hoax: John Farnham Alive?
John Farnham is alive, and any death rumors are false. However, Keith Reid, who wrote Farnham’s “You’re The Voice,” died aged 76 from cancer. Reid co-wrote Farnham’s most renowned song as Procol Harum’s lyricist.
Keith Reid, Andy Qunta, Maggie Ryder, and Chris Thompson penned 1986’s You’re The Voice. The song reached number one in Australia and number six in the UK, becoming an Australian classic. A Whiter Shade Of Pale’s Procol Harum announced Reid’s death on Facebook. The family thanked well-wishers and scheduled a private funeral. Updates on memorial contributions will follow.
People were perplexed since Reid and John were connected and John was hospitalized for a respiratory problem while Reid died. John Farnham, one of Australia’s most renowned artists, had a 50-year career. He has also supported cancer research and disaster assistance via benefit performances.
John Farnham: Cancer?
Lifelong health concerns plagued John Farnham. He uses hearing aids due to tinnitus and hearing loss from playing at loud concerts. After a renal ailment and dehydration halted a tour in 2019, he stopped smoking and cut down on booze.
Farnham’s cancer diagnosis in August 2022 was another fight. The singer-songwriter had a 12-hour jaw restoration and tumor removal operation.
Mouth cancer has been a worry for Farnham since last year. Farnham’s son said his father had difficulties sleeping and detected a malignant growth on his face before the diagnosis. His family said he was comfortable and getting the greatest treatment after being transported to the hospital today for a respiratory problem.
