Julia gave birth to a daughter named Desiree S. Anzalone on September 15, 1989, as a result of her connection with her ex-boyfriend Mario Anzalone. Her daughter was born in Norwalk, Connecticut.

Julia’s lovely daughter Desiree passed away on September 27, 2020. She passed away at the Smilow Cancer Center in Connecticut.

Julia’s only daughter’s death tore her apart. When asked about her daughter’s death, she told People,

“I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy to watch her slip away.” No mother should have to sit through that.”

Desiree, her daughter, had breast cancer. She was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer at the age of 25. She had been battling cancer ever since, but her tumors were growing larger by the day, and even after chemotherapy and surgery, she couldn’t win. Julia, her mother, stated in this regard,

It was spreading rapidly, and the tumors were growing in size. And this time, they performed the procedure and returned 12 hours later, saying, ‘You’ve got days, if not hours.’ That was extremely difficult.

Julia was heartbroken to lose such a beautiful child at such a young age.

Julia Arnaz also lost her mother.

Julia lost her mother not long after her daughter died. Julia’s loving mother, Susan, died in January 2021 as a result of the COVID pandemic, and she was unable to be by her mother’s side in her dying days. She stated to People,

“The COVID-19 kept us apart, so I wasn’t able to see her as much as I usually do because she was compromised, and I didn’t want her getting sick in any kind of wa.”

Julia went on to say,

“As a result of the COVID since March, I haven’t been able to spend as much time with her as I normally do.” I mean, I saw her, but not as frequently; we’d hang out almost every day she was here. She also resided with me for a while.”

Her daughter’s death shattered her from the inside out when she was still grieving her mother’s death.

Julia Is Now An Advocate For Breast Cancer

Instead of mourning her daughter’s death from breast cancer, Julia is actively raising breast cancer awareness. In response to this, she stated,

“to raise awareness for young girls her (Julia’s daughter’s) age, as this does occur.” It’s uncommon, but it does happen.

Arnaz stated that she wants to raise awareness about the fact that even at a young age, girls can develop diseases such as breast cancer. She went on to say,

“It’s just not widely discussed.” It’s normally adults in their late 30s, 40s, and 50s – not someone this young.So that was something she aspired to do – to assist other ladies like herself. Really, it’s a prophylactic measure.”

She attended a Breast Cancer Awareness event in her hometown of Connecticut in October. She has also established a foundation in her daughter’s name to raise breast cancer awareness.

Arnaz enjoys animals and has a pet bird.

Julia is a huge animal lover. She has a pet parrot named Oliver at home.
