The brutal manner of Kaylea Titford’s death surprised a lot of people.
Maggots were found eating on the 16-year-old’s decomposing body as it lay in filthy bedclothes and clothing, according to the police. Her messy, filthy room was crawling with flies and maggots.
When the emergency services discovered Titford’s dead body, they told the judges that it made them “physically sick” to see her decaying body.
Kaylea Titford, 16, had a body mass index (BMI) of an incredible 70 and weighed 146 kg. She was also severely obese.
Her physical restrictions brought on by spina bifida were the cause of her weight gain.
When the spine and spinal cord do not develop normally, spina bifida is a birth defect.
During the UK’s Covid lockdown, Titford had been confined to her bed for more than six months.
In October 2020, she passed away at her home in Newtown, Powys, Wales.
Kaylea’s 2019 termination from dietetics and physical therapy treatments was disclosed to the court.
She was last seen by a social worker at her house.
Her father asserted that her mother, Sarah, was in charge of raising Kaylea.
After she turned 13, he stopped driving her to her checkups and treatments.
Kaylea, who had just turned 16, was a happy and charming young woman.

When he got home from his job as a removalist, he would watch TV and sleep, ignoring his kids out of exhaustion and laziness.
Alun claimed that during the course of six months, Kaylea’s weight climbed by nearly 13 to 19 kg.
Alun, age 45, was forewarned to expect prison term after he was found guilty at Mold Crown Court of gross negligence manslaughter.
Alun was given bail and will be sentenced at Swansea Crown Court on March 1 along with his wife Sarah.
Titford’s condition was deemed “unfit for any animal,” since her lifeless body was covered in filthy clothes and covered in bed linen that was crawling with maggots.
