The sweet love story of her parents
Her parents, Steve and Nancy, are a prominent couple in Hollywood and have been together for more than 30 years.
When Nancy was a student and Steve was the instructor of an improv class, they first met at Second City.
In a 2013 interview with the Guardian, Steve recalled how he was immediately drawn to Nancy but initially believed she hated him because of the way she acted around him. He later realized, however, that she was just as terrified as he was.

He claimed that she was attending classes across the street from the Second City, where he worked, and that he used to enter after shows and make an effort to talk to her.
They would talk about how if he were to ask a woman out, it would be someone exactly like her, and she would respond by saying that if a guy like him were to ask a woman like her out, she would say yes because they were both nervous and afraid around one another.
Weeks of that kind of conversation before his actual invitation to her.
Her father’s perspective on life, work, and the world
In an interview, Steve stated that having children had a significant impact on his life and that he would never forget performing at his first audition after the birth of Elisabeth. He said he didn’t care because the audition wasn’t a matter of life or death, thus he got it right the first time.
His only desire was to see his daughter again. According to him, it changed how he perceived his career and his identity in the world. He continued by saying that having children was by far the most significant and admirable thing they had ever done.

He thought back to his Massachusetts wedding day when he had been eagerly waiting at the altar while perspiring tremendously. As soon as he saw Nancy walking down the aisle, he stopped perspiring and a sense of calmness washed over him because he knew that someone was going to be his partner and have his back. Now that Nancy was a part of his universe, he felt a lot stronger.
