The Daytona Beach Police Department reported him missing on April 13, 2023. Drake’s wife, Janet Von Schmeling, reportedly applied for divorce on April 20, 2023, one week after the actor’s disappearance.
The former child actor’s last social media post prior to his disappearance was a YouTube video posted on March 23. March 6 was the date of his most recent Instagram post, a video of his toddler son.
Drake was best known for starring alongside Josh Peck on the Nickelodeon program Drake & Josh. The renowned children’s program aired from 2004 to 2007.
A few years ago, Drake even sat down with HollywoodLife to discuss a potential reunion for the show. “There were ups and downs, but man, I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat,” he said on the HollywoodLife podcast.
The actor has had a series of legal issues over the past few years, so this news comes as no surprise. The 31-year-old Drake was detained for child endangerment in 2021 after an alleged incident at one of his concerts in 2017.
During the trial, the victim, who was 15 at the time, subsequently accused him of sexual assault. Drake pleaded guilty after initially pleading not guilty. He was sentenced to 200 hours of community service and two years of probation.
