Kyle Capener, a contestant on Big Brother Season 24, is receiving criticism online for his anti-POC sentiments and plots during the most recent season of the show.

Fans posted the footage on social media even though it was a part of the live show and did not make the final cut of the day’s programming.
In the video, Kyle can be heard commenting on the “diverse backgrounds” of his fellow contestants and likening his alliance to the Cookout, an earlier all-black alliance on the show. Indicating racial differences, he also advised his roommates to stick together so they would have a better chance of succeeding.
Not only is Capener under fire for his remarks, but also CBS for leaving them out of the program. The competitor and the show’s producers were frequently criticized in the torrent of tweets that followed the video, many of which contained the hashtag #StopProtectingKyle.

When the incident happened, Capener was talking about survival techniques with his housemates Michael Bruner and Brittany Hoopes. He continued by saying that he and other white participants had a weaker chance of winning than the other competitors and that they should stick together. He declared:
Each person has a strong “why” that is shared by everyone. We had our backs against the wall, and that’s what brought us together, so when I think about our alliance, I think it was great.
Supporters charged CBS with protecting Capener and hiding his racist behavior when the encounter was never broadcast on television. The makers of the show received criticism from viewers for exposing Taylor Hale, who stood up for Jasmine because she didn’t want to exclude a fellow black woman.
Astonished viewers vented their frustrations on social media, accusing Capener of racism and CBS of supporting such behavior.
Many even claimed that Taylor was being portrayed as a “villain” by the show’s creators in order to defend Capener and hide his “racist sentiments” Additionally, they claimed that the program did little to assist Taylor when she was the victim of persistent bullying at the beginning of the season.
Some went so far as to argue that Turner’s animosity for Jasmine was not racially motivated and was not comparable to Capener’s actions.
