Matt Gaetz is facing serious charges despite not having been detained. Rebekah Jones, the Democratic candidate who fell short to Gaetz in Florida’s 1st congressional district last year, appears to be the origin of these allegations. Rebekah’s claims are tough to believe given her dubious past.
For instance, she was detained in 2019 and charged with stalking her ex-boyfriend, who also happened to be a student at Florida State University. She has previously been accused of felony robbery, trespassing, contempt of court, and breaking the terms of a domestic violence restraining order involving the same ex-boyfriend.
Today, Rebekah Jones is pursuing Matt Gaetz. In a series of tweets, she asserted that many media outlets had exposed Matt Gaetz’s liaison with his press aide Joel Valdez. Gaetz tweeted that the congressman’s office was “in upheaval” after it was allegedly revealed that the FBI had gotten pictures of her “making out with young men.” After all of these tweets went viral, inquiries to Gaetz’s office and his wife went unanswered.

Gaetz, the son of well-known Florida politician Don Gaetz, was raised at Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Following his graduation from William & Mary Law School, he engaged in a brief legal career before deciding to run for state representative. From 2010 until 2016, he was a member of the Florida House of Representatives.
Major media outlets covered his backing of Florida’s polarizing “stand-your-ground” law. In addition to being re-elected in 2018 and 2020, he was also elected to the US House of Representatives in 2016 and 2022. US Representative Matt Gaetz’s friend Joel Greenberg received an 11-year prison term for trafficking children.
Joel Greenberg, a former tax collector for Seminole County, was charged with stalking a political rival, official corruption, issuing phony licenses, and preparing bogus loan applications. He entered a guilty plea to six federal crimes, including stalking, identity theft, wire fraud, and conspiracy to bribe a public officer.
The prosecution asserts that Greenberg allegedly paid at least one female to engage in sexual activity with him and other men. Inquiries into his pal Gaetz may be aided by Greenberg’s involvement in determining whether or not he paid a 17-year-old girl for sex. Gaetz initially asserted that the allegations were part of an extortion scheme, a charge he has since refuted. The Florida Panhandle’s Republican congressman has not faced any legal action.
