Something For Thee Hotties, the most recent collection from her label 1501 Certified Entertainment, is not regarded as an album. Megan filed a complaint in Harris County District Court on February 18 asking the court to rule that her CD, Something for Thee Hotties, did, in fact, consist of an album as required by her contract.
The allegations have been denied by Megan Thee Stallion’s label
More than two months after the publication of Something For Thee Hotties, the lawsuit claims that 1501 informed the rapper that the song was not considered an album under her contract on January 5. According to Megan’s contract, an album is any release that is longer than 45 minutes.
The business later denied the accusations, stating Billboard that they have the power to decide what counts as an album. Prior to the release, they also claimed to have told Megan the same thing. According to 1501’s attorney, the Savage singer published the album without the label’s consent and is completely confident in the terms of the contract.
In August 2021, Megan Thee Stallion sued her record label, saying they forbade the publication of a song she had recorded with BTS.
The label continued to state that Megan may only take part in exchange for a payment of $100,000, which Megan would not be eligible to receive. Previously, Megan claimed that 1501 prevented the release of her new song in a case of a similar nature in March 2020.
On October 29, 2021, Something For Thee Hotties was released as a “thank you” gift to Megan’s fans by 300 Entertainment and 1501 Certified. The fourth best-selling album for the artist debuted at number five on the US Billboard 200.
Juicy J, Vickee Lo, and Dino BTW contributed skits to the collection, which features some of Megan’s previously published YouTube freestyles and previously unheard archival tracks. Additionally, it includes “Thot Shit,” which was published in June of that same year.
