Melanie C has a straight sexual orientation. The Sporty Spice doesn’t mind if others make assumptions about her sexuality. In an interview, she said that her acquaintances often mistake her for a lesbian. “It’s so funny, I’ve had lesbians tell me, ‘You are a lesbian,’ and I’m like, ‘I’m so confused, I don’t think I am, but maybe I am?'” she said. “I don’t think about it much.” “But I don’t mind being called a lesbian,” she continued. I’ve had moments in my life when I’ve thought, ‘I wish I were a lesbian.'”

She has always been an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. Melanie recorded a song called High Hells in which she expressed her appreciation for the LGBTQ+ community. She says, “High Heels was inspired by the time I spent with my gorgeous friends at Sink The Pink.”
“High Heels is also a frivolous riot of a song,” she noted, “encapsulating an amazing night out and everything that goes into getting yourself ready for it!” Melanie was taken aback by the club’s friendliness and sense of community. She said that everyone, whomever they are, may be themselves at the club while feeling completely at ease with themselves. Melanie has publicly advocated for the LGBTQ+ community and openly supports transgender equality. Throughout her speech, she calls on institutions and the government to confront LGBTQ+ inequalities.
Melanie C canceled her New Year’s Eve concert in Poland through Twitter on December 26 after becoming aware of the matter, in order to connect with the groups she supports. “In light of some issues that have been brought to my attention that do not align with the communities I support, I’m afraid I will no longer be able to perform in Poland on New Year’s Eve as planned,” she writes.
