Upon searching the car, they found Robinson’s corpse inside the trunk.

Michael Robinson Jr.’s murder by Michael Mitchell Jr. was discovered in a car trunk

A 2017 Chevrolet Camaro was pulled over by a Louisiana State Trooper on Louisiana Highway 17 in Winnsboro on July 29, 2020, for a traffic infraction.

The trooper observed bullet holes on the driver’s side of the vehicle during the stop. The motorist consented to the trooper’s search of the car.

Regretfully, the body of Monroe resident Michael Robinson Jr., 23, was discovered in the car’s trunk during the search.

Following the discovery of Robinson Jr.’s body, the troopers detained the driver, Michael Mitchell Jr., an 18-year-old from Monroe.

A 19-year-old Monroe resident named Cameron Powe was also implicated in the murder, according to the inquiry.

At Powe’s Monroe house, the cops made an arrest. After being transported to the Ouachita Correctional Center, Powe and Mitchell Jr. were accused of second-degree murder.

The police claimed that Powe and Mitchell Jr. had transported Robinson’s body to a distant location, which Powe had supplied, and then put it into Robinson’s vehicle.

Then, in order to dispose of the body, they drove to Franklin Parish. Both people were charged with second-degree murder and issued $500,000 bail.

In the interim, Mitchell and Powe were detained at the Ouachita Correctional Center until their trial or their ability to post bail.

However, after Powe was taken into custody, the authorities opted to close the murder case against him after learning further details from Mitchell.

Powe was not a party to the crime, according to the officers. It’s not often that someone has the opportunity to fix a mistake like this.

A startling development in the Michael Robinson Jr. case is the murder of Michael Mitchell

Unexpectedly, the investigation into Michael Robinson Jr.’s second-degree murder in Louisiana has taken a different path.

The primary suspect, 18-year-old Michael Mitchell Jr., was first linked to Cameron Powe, which raised questions about the veracity of his claims.

Citing a previous dispute, Mitchell asserted on July 29, 2020, that Cameron Powe was accountable for Michael Robinson Jr.’s demise.

A later-filed court document, however, casts doubt on Mitchell’s assertions’ veracity.

Given that it claimed Cameron Powe was not responsible for the murder, concerns were raised over Mitchell’s true motivations.

Following the publication of this document by the Monroe Field Office, authorities started to doubt the veracity of Mitchell’s confession.

Consequently, Cameron Powe was not charged with second-degree murder by the Louisiana State Police (LSP), and on August 3, the district attorney’s office submitted a declination form.

This indicates that they are willing to look into more avenues for their investigation into the untimely death of Michael Robinson Jr.
