She chose to leave her present position and begin a new one in the private sector because she wanted to prioritize spending more time with her family.

She mentioned that the most fulfilling part of her profession was being able to influence the community, even though she liked the adrenaline of covering weather events.

Michelle also apologized to the people of Block Island for concealing her pregnancy for several months while providing weather forecasts.

Michelle Muscatello has worked early morning shifts and covered news events since joining WPRI in 2004, but she has also been active in several other activities.

She has spoken in front of audiences, acted as a mentor to interns, and worked closely with several nonprofit organizations, including MADD and Make-A-Wish MA/RI.

She further collaborated with Project Undercover, the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, Special Olympics, and the American Cancer Society.
