Miranda, Lin-Manuel, And the Relationship with Vanessa Nadal
Both Vanessa Nadal and Lin-Manuel Miranda attended Hunter College High School, but they never dated when they were younger. According to the New York Times, before their marriage in 2010, the former was reportedly unable to contact Nadal throughout his final year.
The actor came upon Vanessa’s Facebook page in 2005. She went to the Freestyle Love Supreme Show that he invited her to, but she didn’t think Miranda cared about her. Given the size of the crowd, she told The New York Times that he avoided her the whole evening.
One of the rapper’s friends gave him Vanessa’s phone number, and she soon realized she was falling for him while seeing Miranda perform on another program.
Nadal compared traffic to her preferred computer game, Grand Theft Auto, as the two of them stood outside after the show. Lin-Manuel Miranda said the following in an interview with The New York Times:
I said calmly, “All right, you’re coming over to my place tonight, and we’re going to play Grand Theft Auto, watch the Jay-Z movie, and listen to Marc Anthony. We quickly swapped keys to our respective homes after that.
