On August 27, 2022, he was elected president of Rajasthan University. Nirmal defeated Niharika Jorwal, minister Murarilal Meena’s daughter, and won the election as an independent.

– By reaching out to supporters at Shakti University, Nirmal started his campaigning for the presidency of the Rajasthan University Student Union on August 22, 2022.
Their following grew. Police used a baton charge (Laathi Charge) on each student before removing all of the kids from the area. In this Lathi Charge, Nirmal also sustained injuries with his sister. At the Mansarovar police station, Nirmal was placed under arrest.
Later, his sister Sara Choudhary and friend Jitendra Bhakar ran his election campaign. The police locked up all of his offices. But his arrest gave his candidacy a boost and won him a lot of student support. Following that, the court issued orders calling for Nirmal’s release on bail.
He was then given a bail release. At 2:00 a.m. on a night, bail was approved for him. Nirmal increased the intensity of his campaign after this occurrence. The election is now his to claim. He decided to compete independently because he was certain he would not receive a ticket via NSUI. Niharika received just 2578 votes compared to Nirmal’s total of 4043.

To start the “Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Digital Central Library” at Rajasthan University, he raised his voice. He called for CCTV cameras to be installed throughout the entire university campus and free Wi-Fi for all students.
MLA Mukesh Bhakar, the former state president of the institution, Anil Chopra, and other supporters helped Nirmal win the presidential election. Considered a member of the Sachin Pilot Group is Mukesh Bhakar. Nirmal stated that Sachin Pilot and Mukesh Bhakar are his role models. On his social media, he only has Mukesh Bhaker as a follower.
