NO:EL

Due to driving without a license and refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test, former high school rapper NO: EL might spend the next year in jail.

The rapper’s one-year prison sentence was upheld by the Supreme Court’s third division on October 14, 2022. The politician Jang Je-won, a member of the National Assembly for the United Future Party, is the father of Jang Yong-jun, also known as NO:EL.

He made his rap debut in 2017 and is a self-taught artist. The singer/rapper has always had a fascination for music. He has been stained by his history of wrongdoing, nevertheless.

An overview of NO: EL misconduct-related

On September 18, 2021, the Korean rapper was found operating a Mercedes Benz in the Banpo of Seoul’s Seocho District and had been in a collision. The police attempted to check his license and blood alcohol content when they got to the crime scene. He struck them on the head instead of complying, on the other hand.

After the first two trials, NO:EL was sentenced to one year in prison. Though the injuries were slight, he was cleared of intentionally causing bodily harm to a police officer. The judgement was later challenged, and NO:EL filed an appeal that was sent to the Supreme Court.

He received a one-year prison sentence after the appeals court supported the lower court’s decision. He received a DUI sentence of one year and six months in jail as well as two years of probation in 2020. He also tried to switch drivers to cover up his mistake.

He later committed the same offense again, and on October 12, 2021, while still on probation, he was taken into custody with an arrest warrant. NO: EL was held captive throughout the trial. But when his incarceration was ended at the end of the month, he was freed.

On October 9, 2022, he was released after a year in prison. Additionally, he struck a motorcyclist in 2019 while driving while intoxicated. To make amends, he then worked as a social worker.

K-netizens are pleased with the Supreme Court’s most recent decision in the middle of the rapper’s transgressions and legal proceedings.

The 22-year-most old’s recent studio album, 21’S/S, was released in 2021. Since his debut, he has collaborated with rappers including Justhis, Kid Milli, Young B, Giriboy, and Swings on three studio albums, two extended plays, and a few singles.

In other news, VICTON’s Heo Chan was expelled from the group for being observed operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The group’s management company, IST Entertainment, released a formal statement to elaborate on the circumstance.
