On January 26, 2014, she did quit her position in response to accusations of inappropriate behavior on her part. She also submitted her resignation on January 27, 2014, and Enrico Letta, the acting prime minister, accepted it.
Nunzia De Girolamo was also the second cabinet minister to step down after the elections in April 2013. She was then chosen to serve as the New Centre-Right Party’s House Whip. She left the New Centre-Right Party in 2015 and returned to Forza Italia, the organization where she first started her political career.
