On Thursday, renowned Zimbabwean musician Paradzai Mesi was arrested after allegedly being detected shoplifting in a Glendale grocery store.
The commander of the Njerama Boys is presently in police custody. A witness with knowledge of the situation stated that the musician spent the entirety of Wednesday in the taverns of Henstone Farm. The same individual also asserted that the musician stole from the store on Thursday morning.
Although the artist went to the store with his team, they fled and he was apprehended alone.
“On Wednesday, Paradzai Mesi, who resides with his family at Kiyawora Farm in Glendale, left his home and spent the entire day drinking beer at a shebeen in Henstone Farm,” the witness reported.
“He then went to Mr. Shabau’s store to steal and was caught stealing food, which he was giving to his accomplices outside the store while he was inside,” said the same individual.
Furthermore, the public reportedly pummeled him until they felt remorseful for him prior to his arrest. The community members transported him to the Henstone Farm police station. The authorities transferred the musician to the Glendale police station, where Paradzai Mesi is currently located.

The side-story of Paradzai Mesi is unique. He alleged that he was dragged from the bar by anonymous individuals.
The musician added that the individuals, whom he referred to as criminals, compelled him to enter the store and hand over the merchandise.
When the musician was discovered stealing, witnesses revealed to the media that his team retreated and left him alone at the scene.
The Zimbabwean performer stated that he could not disobey the alleged assailants’ orders. But as soon as they realized they were being observed, the alleged criminals fled the scene.
Mesi contends that he is not a felon and that the bandits who apprehended him used him.
Sergeant Major Samuel Chikasha, the interim spokesperson for Mashonaland Central police, stated that Glendale officers had not yet received a report on the incident.
“We learned of the predicament through word of mouth. We’ve heard that Paradzai Mesi has been arrested after being caught thieving from a grocery store,” said the Sergeant Major.
Mesi was born to Vengesai Mesi in the Mazowe District. From the 1980s to the 2000s, he rose to prominence as a result of his song’s success.
His spouse is Patricia Kapadza. Mesi and Patricia, his wife, have seven children. Additionally, the performer has four additional children with two other women.
