“I played a young, gay character in the British Channel Four miniseries Queer as Folk, and there were some incredible, explicit sex scenes on that show.”
Hunnam went on to say that playing the role was not a “challenge,” but rather an “exciting challenge.” Although we did not get to see him in the trilogy, his show ‘Sons of Anarchy is still a fan favorite, so everything worked out well for the 41-year-old.
To be clear once more, Charlie Hunnam is not gay; he has only played gay characters on film. He has been with his lady love for over a decade now, and life couldn’t be better.
Tragedy and Romance
Charlie Hunnam has been in a relationship with his partner Morgana McNelis since 2005, making the couple 16 years together. His love life is now filled with joy and happiness. However, his personal life was not always consistent.

He described his ex-three wife’s years of marriage as “three terrible, painful, expensive years” of his life. While the difficult period in his life has passed, he appears to be enjoying his life with his girlfriend, jewelry designer Morgana McNelis.
