Amy Nicole Cobb is also named in some social media posts as Rachel’s supposed wife. However, without official confirmation, the rumor remains unfounded.
Rachel’s intimate engagement with her friend Sheila, which arose during the murder case inquiry, may have sparked some reality to Rachel’s lesbian interest in the past.
The Inside Story of the Notorious Murder Case
Rachel, Sheila, and Skylar, three teenage closest friends, stole out of their houses on December 31, 2012, and only two of them returned home.
Rachel and Sheila first kept quiet about their crime and lied, claiming to have dropped Skylar off near her house that night.
But, as suspicions about the girls grew, Rachel confessed over a month later that she and Sheila had stabbed Skylar to death and stashed her body in the Pennsylvania woods.
Furthermore, when questioned about the motive for the murder, Rachel responded, “We just didn’t like her.”
The confession did not make sense because the three were formerly an inseparable trio, and the case took a different course in the subsequent investigation.

Police later uncovered Skylar’s diary, which proved Skylar had witnessed Rachel and Sheila’s intimate interaction.
This revelation motivated the crime, since the girls may have killed Skylar to conceal their romantic relationship.
Though the motive remains unknown, Sheila was sentenced to life in prison, while Rachel was sentenced to 30 years in prison for second-degree murder.
The case also backfired on the parents of the convicted murderers, who were negligent in parenting their children.

Rachel Shoaf was born to Patricia Shoaf and Rusty Shoaf. Rachel is from a middle-class family; her mother worked in communication and her father worked in a clothing business.

Rachel, now 25, has been sent to West Virginia’s Lake Correctional Center in Mason County, where her friend Sheila is also incarcerated.
She was held at West Virginia’s Northern Regional Juvenile Detention Center before being transferred to the maximum-security prison.
