Relationship with the Coach Is Frayed
Tennis was introduced to his wife when she was a little girl. Emily’s neighbor next door, Bill Kurtzman, pushed her to take up tennis. Her parents used to live in Barellan when she was a child.
In 1965, Goolagong Cawley was a tiny child, and Vic Edwards, the owner of a tennis school in Sydney, came with two assistants to evaluate her potential. When they saw her game, they were pleased. Vic Edwards asked her parents to move to Sydney as soon as possible so she could start working.
